The club had its most successful
tour yet in terms of results when attending the Norton Rose Sponsored
Singapore International Mini & Youth Rugby 10s on 29 November. The
results for BRC were as follows:

Valley Fort A 12 - 0 BRC
The boys played with lots of passion and determination in the pool and
came through top, the highlight the solid 10 minutes of rugby against
Tanglin Sherrifs during which the boys scored a remarkable 7 tries. This
set up a tough quarter-final against a strong Valley Fort A team from
Hong Kong. The boys again played with determination and spirit but were
unfortunately defeated by the better team on the day. With many young
players in the team we can look forward to success in this age group in
the future.

A fantastic performance from the 11-man U10 squad to become SIMYT champions
for the second year in a row. They had an almost perfect defence on the
day, conceding only one try in 6 games, and that being courtesy of some
allegedly myopic touch judging! What was more impressive was that the
knockout stages saw BRC beat arch-rivals Tanglin RC and Centaurs Archers
in consecutive matches, both of whom had handed the BRC U10s their only
defeats of 2008 earlier in the year. A great way to end the year and a
fully deserved reward for all of the hard work the boys have put in over
the last 12 months.
