What are membership fees?
The club does not presently charge any fees for training with all coaches volunteering their services. New members who commit to training do though get two training shirts without charge that need to be brought each week. Parent members also get discount cards for Gilbert Rugby Equipment & Out Of Africa food & drink.
What is expected of players?
Commitment to come to training every week, effort to play in all local events and to take part in as many overseas tours as possible. And very importantly good behavior on and off the field of play.
Can we help?
We always welcome assistance from parents with coaching (we encourage those who help to get a qualification if they don’t already have one) and volunteers at BRC International 10s and other events to handle merchandise, raffle ticket & F&B sales etc.
Where can I get rugby boots / gum shields / other rugby equipment?
One of our partners – Kynetic Solutions – can supply Gilbert equipment and give BRC members a discount - http://www.grays.com.my/
What laws are used?
For younger ages the basic playing laws can be downloaded here - http://www.irb.com/lawregulations/index.html
For younger ages the playing laws vary from country to country so we adapt, but the basics are that matches are 10 aside with 5 forwards and 5 backs. Hand-offs, kicking, contested scrummaging are added as the players progress from Under 9 through to Under 12.
